Today, the thirty first day of October 2021, is celebrated as the thirty first Sunday of Ordinary Time, Year B. In the entrance antiphon we pray: “Forsake me not, O Lord, my God; be not far from me! Make haste and come to my help, O Lord, my strong salvation!”

Catholic Meditation - 30th Sunday - Year B

Sunday, October 24, 2021 is the thirtieth Sunday in ordinary time, year B.  The Universal Church celebrates this last but one Sunday of the month of October as the World Mission Sunday, during which the Catholic Church throughout the world publicly renews its commitment to the missionary movement.  It was created by Pope Pius XI in 1926 as the day of prayer for missions, the day we pray that the Lord should send more labourers into his harvest, which is abundant but with few labourers.  Pope Francis has titled his message for this day: “We cannot but speak about what we have seen and heard” (Acts 4:20).

Catholic Meditation - 29th Sunday – Year B

The Universal Church celebrates this 17^th day in the month of October 2021 as the twenty ninth Sunday in ordinary time, year B.  In the Entrance Antiphon of this day’s Mass we pray: “I call upon you, God, for you will answer me; bend your ear and hear my prayer. Guard me as the pupil of your eye; hide me in the shade of your wings. Amen.”

Sunday, October 3, 2021, is the twenty seventh Sunday in ordinary time, year B.  In the entrance antiphon we pray: “O Lord, you have given everything its place in the world, and no one can make otherwise. For it is your creation, the heaven and the earth and the stars: you are the Lord of all. Amen.”
