Mother Church celebrates Friday, the 25^th day of December 2020, as Christmas, the birthday of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. In the Entrance Antiphon we pray: “A child is born for us, a son given to us; dominion is laid on his shoulders, and he shall be called Wonderful Counselor. Amen.”

Catholic Meditation - 3rd Sunday of Advent - Year B

The Universal Church celebrates Sunday, December 13, 2020, as the third Sunday of Advent in the liturgical year B. It is also called the Gaudate Sunday. This name is taken from the entrance antiphon of the Mass, which says, “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say, rejoice. Indeed, the Lord is near.” These are the words of Saint Paul in which he urges the first Christians of Philippi to rejoice in the Lord always and he gives the reason for this joy, which is that the Lord is at hand. Our Lord always brings us joy and not affliction.

The Universal Church celebrates December 06, 2020, as the Second Sunday of Advent in the liturgical year B. In the entrance antiphon we pray: “For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah when he spoke of: The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Amen.”
