Nestor, not his real name, is a taxi driver in Bamenda. I prefer not to mention his real name for fear he might be harassed and accused of supporting secession, were his story to be known to the forces of repression that seem to smell a ‘secessionist’ in every young Anglophone in every hidden corner of this part of our land –  this “land of promise, land of glory.”  Where is the promise, where is the glory!?

The Universal Church celebrates Sunday, January 07, 2018, as the Feast of the Epiphany, that is, the manifestation of Jesus as Messiah of Israel, Son of God and Saviour of the world. The entrance antiphon of this Mass says: "The Lord and ruler is coming; kingship is his, and government and power. Amen." The Epiphany is the celebration of the adoration of Jesus by the wise men (Magi) from the East, the pagan world that has come to adore the new born King, the Messiah, when the Jewish world, except the shepherds to whom the angel announces his birth, is still largely unaware of his birth.
